ABOUT US
The last edition of the Festival gave me a magical moment. I was about to start the final screening of the event when I was pleased to see a woman with her two children sitting in front of me. The youngest one stood by her side. He must have been about two years old, and truth be told, he barely managed to sit down. As soon as the movie began, he stood up in his seat to see the screen - so small was his stature - and magic happened.

From the first frame of the documentary, the little one began asking questions to his mother. "What is that?" "Why are they so close together?" "What is that crab doing?" "Why are they chasing each other?"... I could hardly see his face, but it was clear that each sequence of the documentary evoked great empathy in him for the creatures on the screen. Sometimes he laughed, other times concern appeared in his voice. And then there was his mother.
Throughout the entire film, she patiently and lovingly answered all her son's questions. Despite not being able to focus on enjoying the screening, she never told him to stop asking. On the contrary, she kept providing him with everything the child needed to satisfy his curiosity.

Far from being bothered by the continuous dialogue between mother and son, I felt very fortunate to have witnessed the scene. Thanks to the child's curiosity and the mother's dedication, I could see how love for nature was delicately entering a person. It was something very special. The documentary was a good seed that fell on fertile ground. That's precisely why Wild Oceans FilmFest was born; to bring the desire for conservation through the art of documentaries, through images and words capable of making you fall in love with the sea. I felt immense satisfaction to see that our recipe for contributing to ocean care was bearing fruit.

In this third edition of Wild Oceans FilmFest that we are now beginning, we set the ambitious goal of getting this message to more people. We have decided to step forward to achieve it. We cannot yet tell you the details of this new stage that has us very excited, but stay tuned, news will be coming... And please, tell it; transmit it; follow the chain until it crosses borders. Because the oral transmission will largely determine how far our message reaches.

See you in November 2024!
